Meet our Arabic and Quran teachers.
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Mahmoud Alasaal is a native Arabic speaker from Egypt, a graduate of the Alexandria Institute of Qirāʾāt at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and a recipient of multiple Qur’anic Ijāzāt, including the complete Ten Qirāʾāt. He ranked first in all his academic programs and has over 13 years of experience teaching the Qur’an, Tajwīd, and Qirāʾāt to both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers. Since 2019, he has served as the Co-Founder, Director, and Senior Instructor at Shaykhi Academy.
Managing Director
Mr. Luqman El-Kasabany is the Managing Director of Shaykhi Academy, a Hafiz of the Holy Qur'an, and a graduate of Al-Azhar University in Islamic Studies (English Language). He holds multiple Qur'an Ijazat, teaches Qur'an, Tajweed, Arabic, and Islamic studies online, and is the author of Al-Menhaj, the academy's official curriculum. He also serves as the academy's Supervisor and Education Manager and has pursued additional training in child development, PMP, and digital marketing.
Senior Qur’an Teacher
Mr. Ahmed Ramadan is a senior Qur’an teacher and professional translator with a bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies in English from Al-Azhar University. He has three years of experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to non-native speakers and translating Islamic and legal texts. A hafiz of the Qur’an since the age of eleven, he holds multiple ijazāt in Qur’anic recitations and has served as an imam for five years.
Egyptian Qur’an teacher
Shaykh Ahmed Hassan Saber is an Egyptian native Arabic speaker, Hafiz of the Qur’an, and Al-Azhar University graduate. He holds Ijazat in the Qira’at of Asem and has extensive experience teaching the Qur’an, Tajweed, and Arabic reading to non-native speakers.
Al-Azhar–educated Islamic studies teacher
Mr. Mahmoud Elsaid is an Al-Azhar graduate and native Arabic speaker with over two years of experience teaching the Qur’an and Islamic studies. Having memorized the Qur’an and currently pursuing his Ijazah, he combines strong Islamic knowledge with educational training to deliver engaging, student-focused lessons for both children and adults.
Al-Azhar–educated Qur’an teacher
Mr. Abdullah Moftah is an Al-Azhar–educated Qur’an teacher, native Egyptian Arabic speaker, imam, and preacher, with a license in the recitation of ‘Asim Barawiyyah.
Qur’an teacher
Mr. Nour Elden is a native Arabic-speaking Qur’an teacher from Egypt and a student at Al-Azhar University. He memorized the Qur’an at 13, holds multiple Ijazahs in Qur’anic recitation, Tajweed, and Hadith, and is close to completing all Qira’at. Since 2021, he has taught both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers, using Arabic and English to communicate effectively. His teaching style focuses on clear explanations and interactive, game-based learning to keep students engaged, especially children.
Egyptian native Arabic speaker teacher
Mr. Saif Al-Metwaly is an Egyptian native Arabic-speaking teacher and medical student who is fluent in English and French. He teaches Qur’an recitation, Tajweed, and Islamic studies to non-Arabic speakers of all ages using clear and accessible methods, and he is committed to self-development with experience across various institutions.
Mrs. Asmaa Abdul Rahman is a senior Qur’an teacher with over 10 years of experience. A graduate of Al-Azhar University's English Department and a student of Dar Al-Arqam bin Abi Al-Arqam, she teaches Qur’an, Tajweed, basic Arabic, Arabic conversation for English speakers, and introductory Islamic studies. She specializes in teaching children from age five and women of all ages, using Noor Al-Bayan and Qaida for beginners. She is recognized for her engaging teaching style, attention to detail, and holds an Ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim.
Ms. Alaa Elbakry is a native Arabic-speaking Qur’an teacher and graduate of Alexandria University. She studied Tajweed at Daar Iqraa, earning certificates with excellent grades, and has experience teaching the Qur’an online via WhatsApp and Zoom. She is also active in charitable work and is the published author of a short novel and a book of quotes.
Qur’an and Arabic teacher from Egypt
Ms. Kholoud Hamada is a native Arabic speaker from Egypt, a Hafiz of the Qur’an, and an experienced Qur’an and Arabic teacher with over three years of teaching experience. Fluent in Arabic and English, she teaches students of all ages using engaging and personalized methods. She is currently pursuing her Ijazah in ‘Asim and holds an Ijazah in Tohfa Al-Atfal.

Ms. Asmaa Gohar is a certified Arabic and Qur’an tutor from Egypt with over six years of experience teaching non-native speakers. A graduate of Al-Azhar University, she teaches Modern Standard Arabic, Egyptian Arabic, Qur’an with Tajweed, and Islamic studies using interactive, student-centered methods tailored to each learner's needs.
